Easter is right around the corner, and I have the perfect amigurumi project for you! Let me introduce the cutest and softest crochet spring bunny ever seen. When designing this crochet pattern, I knew I had to add a couple cute items of clothing to them. This is the first time I’ve ever crocheted tiny clothing and I’m pretty sure it won’t be my last. Just look how sweet they turned out!
I’ve teamed up with my friends over at Michaels Stores to bring you a super fun amigurumi project to make this Spring. They recently launched a whole bunch of new yarns for Spring, and I was excited to try a few of them out. When I was wandering the aisles looking at the new yarns, the Baby Rainbow line stood out the most to me. It’s an extremely soft yarn made from 100% polyester and has a slight halo to it. I knew it would make the perfect yarn for these crochet spring bunnies. The colors are vibrant yet still subtle enough like pastels for this time of year. These yarns will only be available for a limited time so make sure to head to your local Michaels store or hop online to grab some of these colors. I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Let’s get started making a crochet spring bunny!
I’m going to show you how to make the girl bunny first. If you’re looking to make the boy bunny, follow the directions as follows. The crochet pattern for his overalls is at the end.
Head
Using cream yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: *Sc 2, inc* 6 times. (24 sts)
R5: *Sc 3, inc* 6 times. (30 sts)
R6: *Sc 4, inc* 6 times. (36 sts)
R7: *Sc 5, inc* 6 times. (42 sts)
R8-13: Sc 42.
Add safety eyes between rounds 11&12, about 6 stitches apart. With the light pink yarn, stitch a nose between the eyes between rounds 10&11. Then make one vertical line in the center, going down to round 12. Add eyelashes with black embroidery floss, if desired.
R14: *Sc 5, inv dec* 6 times. (36 sts)
R15: *Sc 4, inv dec* 6 times. (30 sts)
R16: *Sc 3, inv dec* 6 times. (24 sts)
Begin adding fiberfill and continue as you close the piece.
R17: *Sc 2, inv dec* 6 times. (18 sts)
R18: *Sc 1, inv dec* 6 times. (12 sts)
R19: Inv dec around 6 times. (6 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail to close the piece.
Ears – Make 2
Using cream yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: Sc 18.
R5: *Sc 1, inv dec* 6 times. (12 sts)
R6-11: Sc 12.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Leave unstuffed.
With straight pins, pin the ears in place on the head. Place them about 2 rounds down from the magic ring. Sew in place then secure with a knot and hide the end inside the head.
Inside of Ears – Make 2
Using light pink yarn,
R1: Ch 8 then starting in the 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across. (6 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
With straight pins, pin the inside pieces to the ears/head. Then with the yarn needle, sew them to the ears. For this part I went through both layers of the main ear piece. Then when I was coming back through to the pink, I made sure to go through the same stitch hole that I had just come from. This helps with making sure the pink stitching is not seen on the back side of the ear. Stitch all the way around then secure with a knot and hide the end inside the head.

Body
The body is worked starting with the legs then worked up to the neck.
Leg 1
Using cream yarn,
R1: 5 sc in magic ring. (5 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (10 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 5 times. (15 sts)
R4-11: Sc 15.
Fasten off and leave a tail. Set aside.
Leg 2
Using cream yarn,
R1: 5 sc in magic ring. (5 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (10 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 5 times. (15 sts)
R4-11: Sc 15.
We’re now going to connect the legs and then continue with the body.
R12: With the second leg still on the hook, insert the hook into the first stitch on leg 1. This will be the stitch to the left of where we fastened off. Sc 15 on the first leg, then sc 15 on the second leg. (On leg 2 you’ll insert the hook into the stitch to the left of where we fastened off.) (30 sts)
R13-16: Sc 30.
Use the yarn needle and the tail left over from leg 1 to sew the opening between the legs closed.
Add fiberfill to the legs and continue adding as you work the body.
R17: *Sc 3, inv dec* 6 times. (24 sts)
R18-21: Sc 24.
R22: *Sc 2, inv dec* 6 times. (18 sts)
R23-25: Sc 18.
R26: *Sc 1, inv dec* 6 times. (12 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Dress
You’ll want this to fit around the body, about 2-3 rounds down from the top.
Using lavender yarn,
R1: Ch 24 then join with a sl st in the 1st ch. Then, going under both loops leaving the “back bump”, sc around 24 times. (24 sts) See photos below.
R2: *Sc 7, inc* 3 times. (27 sts)
R3: *Sc 8, inc* 3 times. (30 sts)
R4: Sc 30.
R5: *Sc 9, inc* 3 times. (33 sts)
R6: *Sc 10, inc* 3 times. (36 sts)
R7: Sc 36.
R8: *Sc 11, inc* 3 times. (39 sts)
R9-12: Sc 39.
Fasten off and weave in tails.
Straps – We’ll make two of these.
On the front of the dress, you’ll want to mark two stitches with two stitch markers. Make sure these are centered and leave about 3 stitches in between them. These are going to be the “back bumps” left over from R1.

Insert the hook into one of the back bumps, lay the yarn over the hook and pull through the bump. Then ch 10. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Repeat for the other strap.
Turn the dress inside out and weave in the loose tails from the starting chain.
For the back, count 8 back bumps around the side and place a stitch marker. Do this for both sides.
Then with a yarn needle, weave under the bump and sew the strap in place. Secure the end by weaving through the inside of the dress.
Place the dress on the body of the bunny. You’ll see there’s a spot under the straps and this is where the arms will go. The dress must go on before the arms and head are attached.
Arms – Make 2
Using cream yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3-10: Sc 12.
R11: *Sc 1, inv dec* 4 times. (8 sts)
Add a little bit of fiberfill, making sure to not overstuff.
R12: Sc 4. Do this by lining up the stitches on both sides of the arm then inserting the hook into both stitches. Sc as normal.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Pin the arms under the straps and sew into place with the yarn needle. Secure each tail with a knot and hide the ends inside the body.
To finish, use the yarn needle to sew the head to the body. Secure the end with a knot and hide inside the head.

Boy Bunny
You’ll want to make and assemble all the pieces first. His overalls are made so they slide over his legs and arms.
Overalls
Using limelight yarn,
R1: Ch 30 then join with a sl st in the 1st ch. Then, going under both loops leaving the “back bump”, sc around 30 times. (30 sts)
R2-8: Sc 30.
Now we’re going to work the first pant leg.
R9: Ch 5 then join with a sl st in the 15th sc from the stitch marker. Continuing into the 16th st, sc around 15 times until you reach the stitch marker. (20 sts) *Note- the sl st does not count as a stitch for this round.
R10: Sc 20. When beginning, go under both loops leaving the “back bump” on the chain and then continue with sc as normal once you reach the main part.
R11: Sc 20.
Fasten off and weave in the end.
For the second pant leg:
Rejoin the yarn in the 2nd unworked sc space and ch 1.
*Note- the ch 1 will not count as a stitch.
R9: Sc into the same space as the ch 1, then sc into the next 14 sts. Ch 5 then sl st into the ch 1 to join. (The sl st does not count as a stitch) (20 sts)

R10: Sc 15, then sc across the chain, going under both loops leaving the “back bump”. (20 sts)
R11: Sc 20.
Fasten off and weave in the end. With the starting tail from the beginning, use this to close up the hole in the center of the pants.
Using limelight yarn,
R1: Ch 6 then starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sc across 5 times. (5 sts) Ch 1 and turn.
R2+3: Sc 5. Ch 1 and turn after row 2 only.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
With the yarn needle, sew the pocket to the front center of the overalls. Secure and weave in the ends.
Overall Straps – We’ll make two of these.
On the front of the overalls, you’ll want to mark two stitches with two stitch markers. Make sure these are centered and leave about 4 stitches in between them. These are going to be the “back bumps” left over from R1.
Insert the hook into one of the back bumps, lay the yarn over the hook and pull through the bump. Then ch 20. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Repeat for the other strap.
Turn the overalls inside out and weave in the loose tails from the starting chain.
For the back, count 10 back bumps around the side and place a stitch marker. Do this for both sides.
Cross the straps over each other to form an “X”. Then with a yarn needle, weave under the bump and sew the straps in place. Secure the ends by weaving through the inside of the overalls.
