Hi Friends! I’m back again with a new set of Crocheted Chubby Bunnies! Last month after I created the set of Halloween Bunnies, all decked out in their Halloween costumes, I knew I had to keep it going and release a new collection this month. These new chubby bunnies are inspired by my favorite season- FALL!
This amigurumi collection is the epitome of everything I love about Fall. We have the cutest gourd, perfect for decorating the table at Thanksgiving! Some bunny went out to forage for mushrooms and came back looking like a toadstool! Nothing says Autumn like a big ol’ slice of pumpkin pie. This bunny even comes topped with a dollop of whipped cream! And last, but certainly not least, we have a turkey! Seriously, I don’t think I could love a collection more than I love these!
The base for the bunny is the same as the one that can be FOUND HERE. This post is only sharing the modifications needed to make each character. You will need to reference back to the original Chubby Bunny Crochet Pattern when crocheting each piece. Under each character I have listed the specific materials needed to complete each design.
I hope you have fun making these Fall Bunnies!
Let’s get crocheting!

Pumpkin Pie Bunny
Materials Needed:
- Yarn- I used Michaels Loops & Threads Impeccable in the colors Pumpkin, White, Heather and Soft Rose
- Size E/3.5mm Crochet Hook
- 1 pair of black 9mm safety eyes
- Optional- Hot glue gun
- Plus all other materials listed in the original pattern.
Ears- Follow the pattern and make 2 ears in Pumpkin.
Arms and Legs- Follow the pattern and make 2 arms in Pumpkin and 2 legs in Heather.
Tail- Follow the pattern and make the tail in Pumpkin.
Body
Follow rounds 1-17 of the original pattern, using pumpkin yarn. Then continue with what is stated below.
Add safety eyes between rounds 11&12, 6 stitches apart.
Change to heather yarn,
R18: In FLO, *Hdc dc hdc all in 1 st, sl st in the next st” 21 times.
R19: In the Back Loops left over from R18, *Sc 5, inv dec* 6 times. (36 sts)
Fasten off the pumpkin yarn.
Follow rounds 20-24 of the original pattern to complete the body.
Assemble the ears, arms and legs exactly as the pattern states.
Tail
Sew the tail to the body between rounds 12-16. It will sit right above the frilly crust.
Dollop of Whipped Cream
Using white yarn,
R1: Ch 30 then starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each ch across. (29 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Starting at the end with no tails, begin rolling the strip towards the end with the tails. With the longer yarn tail and the yarn needle, weave through the icing and come out the other side. Do this a few times in different directions to make sure all the sides are connected. This will make it, so the dollop doesn’t come undone. Another alternative is applying hot glue along the edge of the strip and rolling it up.
Continue to use the long tail to sew the dollop to the top of the head, between the ears.

- Yarn- I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in the color Terra Cotta, Michaels Craftsmart in the color Leaf Green, Michaels Loops & Threads Impeccable in the colors Soft Rose and Heather
- Size E/3.5mm Crochet Hook
- 1 pair of black 9mm safety eyes
- Plus all other materials listed in the original pattern.

Tail- Follow the pattern and make the tail in Leaf Green
Body
Follow along with this video for the wavy color change technique.
Pattern and step by step photos are below it.
Follow rounds 1-8 of the original pattern, using terra cotta yarn. Then continue with what is stated below.
Change to leaf green yarn,
R9: *Sc 2 in leaf green, sc 2 in terra cotta,* 10 times, sc 2 in leaf green. (42 sts)
Start by making 1 sc in leaf green. In the next stitch make 1 sc but before completing the stitch, drop the leaf green yarn and pick up the terra cotta yarn. Complete the stitch as normal with the terra cotta yarn. In the next stitch, make 1 sc in terra cotta. Then sc in the next st but before completing the stitch, drop the terra cotta yarn and pick up the leaf green yarn. Complete the stitch as normal with the leaf green yarn.
Continue this method and sequence all the way around, ending with leaf green. When making the color changes, make sure to just drop and pick up the yarn when the color change happens. Do not crochet over the color not being used.
Fasten off the terra cotta yarn. Continue working in leaf green yarn.
Follow rounds 10-24 of the original pattern to complete the body.
Add safety eyes between rounds 11&12, 6 stitches apart.
Assemble the ears, arms, legs and tail exactly as the pattern states.

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Add a little bit of fiberfill to the stem.
Sew the stem to the body in between the ears.

Toadstool Mushroom Bunny
Materials Needed:
- Yarn- I used Michaels Loops & Threads Impeccable in the colors Red Hot, Soft Rose and Aran
- Size E/3.5mm Crochet Hook
- 1 pair of black 9mm safety eyes
- White Felt
- Hot glue gun
- Plus all other materials listed in the original pattern.
Ears- Follow the pattern and make 2 ears in Red Hot.
Arms and Legs- Follow the pattern and make 2 arms in Red Hot and 2 legs in Aran.
Tail- Follow the pattern and make the tail in Aran.
Body
Follow rounds 1-14 of the original pattern, using red hot yarn. Then continue with what is stated below.
Add safety eyes between rounds 11&12, 6 stitches apart.
R15: In FLO, Hdc 42.
Fasten off red hot yarn and weave in the end.
R16: Join aran yarn in the first Back Loop of R15 and chain 1. This chain 1 will act as a stitch.
Continue making a sc in each st all the way around. (42 sts)
Note- After R16 you’ll notice a little gap in between where the round started and ended. When starting R17, insert the hook into the chain one and continue crocheting as normal. Follow round 17-24 of the original pattern to complete the body.
Assemble the ears, arms and legs exactly as the pattern states.
Tail
Sew the tail to the body between rounds 18-21.
White Mushroom Spots
Using white felt, cut out circles in 3 sizes, small, medium and large. Use hot glue to attach them all over the red part of the body and ears.
You’ll need roughly 13 small, 6 medium, and 8 large dots to cover the bunny.
Tip! For cutting perfect circles, use sharp scissors and go slow! Even tracing a circle on paper and using it as a template is super helpful!
Turkey Bunny
Materials Needed:
- Yarn- I used Michaels Loops & Threads Impeccable in the colors Gold, Cherry, Red Hot, Michaels Craftsmart in the color Toasted Almond, Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in the color Terra Cotta
- Size E/3.5mm Crochet Hook
- 1 pair of black 9mm safety eyes
- Optional- Hot glue gun
- Plus all other materials listed in the original pattern.
Follow the entire pattern exactly as stated. The only modification was the placement of the eyes. I positioned the eyes between rounds 11&12, 6 stitches apart.
Make the body, ears, 2 arms and tail in Toasted Almond. Make 2 legs in Gold.
Assemble the ears, arms, and legs exactly as the pattern states.
Directions for where to sew the tail are in the feather assembly directions below.
Beak
Using gold yarn,
R1: 4 sc in magic ring. (4 sts)
R2: *Sc 1, inc* 2 times. (6 sts)
R3: *Sc 2, inc* 2 times. (8 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew the beak between rounds 11-13, centered between the safety eyes.
Wattle
Using red hot yarn,
R1: Ch 7 then starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch across. (6 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew the wattle on the top of the beak, letting the rest dangle down the side. I used a little bit of hot glue to keep the wattle in place on the side of the beak.

Feathers
Small- Make 2
Using gold yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: Sc 18.

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Leave unstuffed.
Medium- Make 2
Using terra cotta yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: Sc 18.
R5: *Sc 1, inv dec* 6 times. (12 sts)
R6-16: Sc 12.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Leave unstuffed.
Large- Make 1
Using cherry yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: Sc 18.
R5: *Sc 1, inv dec* 6 times. (12 sts)
R6-18: Sc 12.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Leave unstuffed.
Starting with the red feather, use straight pins and position between rounds 18&19. With a yarn needle, whip stitch the open part of the feather to the body. Then, sew up along the edge of the feather to secure it to the body. I went up about 4 rounds. Weave the needle over to the other side and sew down the edge to secure the other side to the body. Secure the tail with a knot and hide inside the body.
Next, take the orange feathers and pin them in place next to the red one. You’ll want to overlap the orange feather on top of the red feather just slightly. Sew the feathers in place, following the directions above for the red feather.
Finally, take the yellow feathers and pin them in place next to the orange ones. Again, you’ll want to overlap these feathers just slightly. Sew the feathers in place.
For the tail– Using straight pins, pin the tail underneath the red and orange feathers. Sew the tail into place. Mine was sewn near rounds 20-22. Secure the tail with a knot and hide inside the body.
