Hi friends! Today I’m delighted to share a new free crochet pattern with all of you! Let me introduce you to Sip, the soda cup! He likes extra fizzy cola with crushed ice on hot summer days and hates when the ice melts and ruins his drink! His best friends are the amigurumi burger and french fries from Crochet Café and I certainly can’t blame him. This crochet trio is so fun and Sip definitely makes the set complete. An amigurumi burger, fries and a nice cold drink to wash it all down, what could be better?

Some of you may remember seeing this amigurumi cutie last year when my book, Crochet Café, was released. And some of you may have even received this as a free gift for leaving a review on Amazon (a big thank you to those that have!) But I thought, why not let everyone enjoy this cuteness! I hope you all enjoy making Sip and adding him to your Crochet Café amigurumi food collection.
*The burger and french fry crochet patterns can both be found in my book, Crochet Café and are not included in this free amigurumi pattern. To purchase your copy of Crochet Café, please head to my website, amenagerieofstitches.com or Amazon.

Straw
Using white yarn,
R1: 5 sc in magic ring. (5 sts)
R2-13: Sc 5. After a couple rounds, insert the pipe cleaner into the straw piece.
Crochet around the pipe cleaner for the remaining rounds.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
*NOTE – For safety if giving this to small children, fold the tip of the pipe cleaner about half an inch before inserting into the straw piece. This way the pipe cleaner doesn’t accidentally poke out the top of the straw while being played with.
About half of the pipe cleaner will stick out the end and that’s okay! Insert the remaining part of the pipe cleaner into the center of the magic ring on the lid. With the yarn needle, sew the straw to the lid. Secure the tail. Bend the straw about an inch at the top.
To assemble the cup
To make the base of the crochet cup more flat and stable, add a small piece of cardboard to the bottom. Trace the base of the cup and cut out. You’ll want this to fit perfectly into the bottom so you may have to trim it down a little, so it fits. Place the cardboard into the cup and then add fiberfill. It’s okay to not add all of it at once since you can always add more as you sew the pieces together. Using the yarn needle, weave the needle through the back loops from R21 of the cup and between the stitches of R7 & R8 of the lid. Add more fiberfill if needed. Secure and hide the tail inside the cup.
